What Are Service A and B?
Service A
As mentioned, Service A and Service B are rotating service intervals that are followed by your 2022 Sprinter van. Typically, your first Service A will be performed after 10,000 miles or around one year of ownership. After this initial appointment, you'll have another Service A appointment approximately every 20,000 miles; meaning you can expect them around the 30K-, 50K-, and 70K-mile mark and so on.
During your Service A appointment, a Master Certified Technician will perform several routine repairs and maintenance checks, including:
- Synthetic motor oil replacement and oil filter replacement
- Fluid inspections
- Brake inspection
- Tire inspection
- Diesel exhaust fluid replacement
Your technician will also reset your Flexible Service System (FSS) counter, known as ASSYST or the Active Service System, so you can be properly notified of when your next appointment will be.
Service B
Your first Service B appointment will occur around the 20,000-mile mark, or approximately 10,000 miles after your first Service A. Like Service A, your Service B appointments will also alternate every 20,000 miles afterwards. This means you can expect a Service B appointment around the 40K-, 60K-, and 80K-mile marks.
Service B appointments require all the same checks and inspections as Service A, while also requiring a cabin air dust/combination filter replacement and a brake fluid exchange. This helps to ensure that no stone is left unturned in terms of your maintenance needs.
Tracking Your Service A and B Intervals
As mentioned, your 2022 Sprinter, as well as other Mercedes-Benz vehicles, come equipped with the ASSYST or Active Service System feature. This helps to track the remaining time or distance before your next service appointment.
You'll begin to receive notifications from ASSYST approximately one month before your next service appointment. This will tell you the days or miles you have to go before your next appointment, as well as which service interval you're due for.
